Wonderfully detailed portrait signed Pietro Armati (1898-1976) the work is in excellent condition hand signed.
Armati was a draftsman and painter who studied in Bergamo from 1914 to 1921. He later opened his own studio in Milan and in 1930 he went to the Netherlands. In 1945 he was forced to return to Italy. During his time in the Netherlands, he regularly participated in exhibitions at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
