This pair of works has an unknown origin. The story told by the person who sold them to me is that they are two wealthy Venetian citizens who own land in the Asolo area. In their country home, now abandoned for years, various objects were found that retrace their lives in the early 1900s.
The works have their original frames and, for those interested, require a light restoration. On the back of one of the two paintings is a pencil sketch, which was later redone on the front and completed with oil paint. The paintings can only be sold as a pair. Their history cannot be separated.
